Is it worth it?

So I have been having thoughts about school, and I am beginning to question the value of a university level education. The price a middle class white girl must pay for an education is inconceivable. The pressure continues when your parents decide that they don't want to pay for the school you have settled into, and have fallen in love with.

Is the amount of money really worth it? Is my true heart's desire to become a nomad living from what each day brings me, while exploring the world? Or should I get a degree and figure things out from there.

The cookie cutter life schedule is beginning to make less sense to me. I do not have to listen to anyone else on how to live my life, so why do I insist on doing so. The truth is, I am afraid of veering from the only path I am familiar with. So, is it worth it in the end to stay in four years of college, get a degree, get a job, and begin paying off debt? Or should I dabble in something spontaneous, and set my own boundaries?
